The FAA Fast Team conducted a Safety Seminar on Light Aircraft at the Columbia Airport Campground Pavilion.
This program was designed and presented by Harlow Voorhees, the FAA Fast Team Manager out of the Fresno Flight Standards District Office, and Roy Hutto, an Airworthy Maintenance Inspector from the Sacramento FSDO. The safety seminar was designed to help light sport pilot's better understand how to approach safety--how to identify risks--how to reduce risk when flying Light Sport Aircraft.
The 20 plus participants, were part of an on going effort to improve safety in Light Sport Aircraft. They learned about the different classes: airplane, glider, powered parachute, weight shift control, gyroplane, and lighter-than-Air.
This safety seminar covered the methods and procedures to sharpen a pilots judgment and flight discipline--key behavioral elements of safe flying--and increase the awareness in Light Sport Aircraft.
